History of AI Forum

The AI Forum originated from the 1st Annual AI-Cambodia Forum, held on November 8, 2018, at Raintree – The Canopy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This inaugural event, titled “Human Intelligence in the Augmented Era,” was organized by the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI), the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), and ISI Group. It served as a dynamic platform for scholars, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas on Artificial Intelligence (AI), analyze the societal impacts of digital technologies, and foster vital partnerships between academia and industry. The forum laid the groundwork for building a collaborative community dedicated to shaping Cambodia’s AI ecosystem and addressing its potential challenges and opportunities.

The AI Forum is guided by its mission to navigate the global AI landscape, leverage AI technology for societal benefit, and strengthen partnerships between government, industry, and academia. It is committed to bridging institutional gaps, promoting innovation, and fostering responsible AI development. Built on the core values of ethics, collaboration, an interdisciplinary approach, excellence, and innovation, the forum provides a space where diverse stakeholders can unite to address the challenges of AI and digital transformation while ensuring the responsible application of emerging technologies.

Today, the AI Forum continues to drive Cambodia’s progress in technology and innovation, playing a pivotal role in advancing education, research, and application in AI. By facilitating meaningful dialogue and collaboration, it empowers participants to shape the future of AI not only in Cambodia but also on a global scale. With its vision to promote innovation and collaboration, the forum is building a future where AI serves as a transformative force for societal growth and prosperity.
